La acusación constitucional necesitaba 29 votos favorables para ser aprobada.
La presidenta del Senado, Ximena Rincón (DC), manifestó que los diputados acusadores tendrán 60 minutos para exponer, mismo tiempo para la defensa del Jefe de Estado.
“Sin embargo, estos malos ejemplos, de no cumplir las normas sanitarias, viajar sin esperar el resultado de un examen, creo que no son una buena señal para la comunidad”, dijo el titular del Minsal
“Esperamos que en el Senado -donde hay un debate muchas veces distinto y más profundo- eso pueda quedar plasmado”. Esas fueron parte de las palabras del ministro del Interior, Rodrigo Delgado.
Según informó la presidenta del Senado, Ximena Rincón, durante la tarde de este martes, “se resolvió que el próximo martes se tramita la acusación constitucional en el Senado en dos bloques»
En un principio, la participación del legislador estuvo en duda.
Asimismo, 67 parlamentarios estuvieron en contra y tres abstenciones (Pepe Auth, Pablo Lorenzini y Carlos Abel Jarpa).
“Todo se pudo haber solucionado de otra forma, pero fue la derecha la que escogió el camino largo”, dijo el diputado de Revolución Democrática, Giorogio Jackson
Torrealba dijo que “hoy día hemos asistido a un show patético por parte del diputado Naranjo, en donde incluso se ha tomado la atribución de pedirle a sus compañeros que salgan de la sala para poder controlar la acusación constitucional”.
El parlamentario viajará durante esta tarde hacia Valparaíso.
La estrategia busca asegurar la votación de los diputados que se encuentran en cuarentena preventiva.
El libelo pasará a la Cámara de Diputados y Diputadas, donde será analizado y votado a partir de las 10:00 de la mañana del lunes 8 de noviembre.
La acusación fue presentada por diputados de oposición a acusa de la vinculación del mandatario con el caso “Pandora Papers”, en el que se plantea la compraventa de la minera Dominga en las Islas Vírgenes.
Quienes se refirieron a este tema fue el presidente de la Comisión de Constitución del Senado y la presidenta del Senado.
